The best compliment I have ever been paid at a conference was in Corfu.
The speaker the year before was the athletics coach Frank Dick, who is regarded as one of the best motivational speakers. After my presentation the Austrian woman who organised the event quoted her assistant as follows: "You had been speaking for only three minutes when Heidi whispered to me 'This man is a Dick'." At least, I am assuming
   it was Dick, not dick.
